From MIT to Ferry

Friday, Oct. 4

From Subway: Take Red Line inbound to Downtown Crossing and transfer to Orange Line to Oak Grove; travel one stop to State and transfer to the Blue Line on a Wonderland train. Take one stop to Aquarium. Because of the Big Dig, the Aquarium subway station has been moved to State Street and the Aquarium subway station now has two exits/entrances on State Street . Head for Long Wharf down State (if you take the right exit from the turnstiles, make left onto State; if you take the left exit from the turnstiles, make a right down State). Make sure you are heading in the direction toward the Harbor (you will see a green bridge that you will need to walk under). Cross John F. Fitzpatrick Expressway and Atlantic Ave. toward Long Wharf. The BHC ticket counter can be seen as soon as you enter the Wharf. The Boston-Provincetown Fast Ferry is behind it on Long Wharf. From the subway station this is less than a 5-minute walk. The ferry is called The Salacia. Click here for a map of the Aquarium Subway Station and BHC at Long Wharf; click here for a map of the Boston MBTA subway system.

Please allow yourself enough time to get to the ferry. If you are taking the subway keep in mind that although the rides to each station are very short, there may be a wait for the trains. It is recommended that you leave campus 45 minutes ahead of time. The ferry boards 30 minutes before departure. For those taking the 2:00 p.m. ferry please arrive no later than 1:30 p.m. ; for those taking the 6:30 ferry, please arrive no later than 6:00 p.m.   THE FERRY IS ON A REGULAR SCHEDULE AND WILL NOT WAIT FOR LATECOMERS.
